Last week we performed and experiment that focused on the realtionship between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. All of the tubes contained an indicator fluid that changed color in the presence of Carbon Dioxide. The first tube contained this fluid and a plant. The second contained the indicator and an animal (snail.) The third tube contained the indicator fluid and both a plant and an animal. The last one only had the indicator in it, as a control. What we expected to see what a color change in the snail tube.
This experiment was useful in helping students see how closely photosynthesis and cellular respiration are related.
